This project was started as the original planning project for the promotional event for the city of Shizuoka. The representative of KIRINZI is originally from Shizuoka and upon finding out that Shizuoka city and Cannes City are sister cities, he established this project in cooperation with local volunteers, the French Embassy, Institut français, the City of Cannes and the official media of Cannes Film Festival.

It started on a port with a beautiful view of Mt. Fuji. Guests enjoyed food that appeared in the movies, while watching the movies with young new film directors active overseas etc. The event was started as a way to utilize local resources. After it’s 3rd year, the event has gathered over 100,000 people, and is now operated solely by local staff.
